Day 2 of a WA pass weekend climbing tour. Up fairly early to try and beat the crowds up to the Beckey rte. It is a popular climb as my partner and myself have heard. Ground out the approach and this time didn't miss the turnoff. Arriving at the start to find a party of 4 from the boealps allready beat us. Our plan was to do the beckey rte and scope out the N. face rte on concord which is right across the gulley and do that after the beckey. I believe it was an intermediate class of some sorts and slow going but Okay as we were in no big rush after we found out we may need 2 rope rap's off concord, which we didn't have. First pitch Nolan took and have an option here, the arete, or a chimney. He decided on the arete move and very fun up to a nice belay spot. One thing about this rte the belay spots are really awesome with the views and good seats and all. 2nd pitch was mine and tried at first another harder option and for sure not the rte and easilly 5.9, But backed off after almossstttt making it. Went around to the correct rte and this was much easier and I think it goes at 5.5 or something. Seemed like the longest pitch and a blast. 3rd pitch went up to the finger traverse I think it is called and a nice undercling which brings you up and around to another nice belay spot. Last pitch was mine and I think the beckey guide puts this as the crux move and 5.7? But it was 1 slabby face move and more like 5.0, then scramble to the top. We encountered hot weather even up here with flying ants everywhere and we didn't last to long. Noticed the fires up in the pasaytens and flareups would send smoke clouds high into the sky. On the way down we bumped into our boealps friends once again and asked if they minded if we used there double rope rap which would save us from doing 2. No problem and we all chatted down to the parking lot. Awesome day.
