This climb was after 5 days of Mt Baker. When I was on Baker Summit, I was looking Mt Shuksan down and decide to go next. First I was thinking it is lower and easier...no way I was wrong. Why?
We hit the road after work (me and Steve) and drive to ranger station 3 h(?).After quick register we were on mount road to parking lot. Two cars only on the parking.
Hike was difficult, because was dark, brushy, wet and we lost "trail" few times. After 2 hours we pass trees line and decide to camp. I was camping on the snow with purpose to test my pad and slipping bag. Was cold.
In the morning after coffee and bequest we hit the trail (7am). After one-two h we stop on creek to fill with water (I newer taste better water maybe) my partner telling me the same.
We got on rock after two hours and climbed up for next 25 minutes.
Baker was to close like we can touch summit.
Because this rocky summit I was little tired (climbing boots). We made down with another party just to fill better and chat with someone...nice people.(All climbers are nice)
When we got to the camp around 5pm. we decide to stay one more night and relax.
