Announcements can be official or simply things that members wish to share. Announcements can (but are not required to) have one or more dates attached to them. For example, a "For Sale" item would have no dates attached, while "Telemark Class" would list all of the dates for the class. To add an item, first fill out the the Announcement form. You will then be able to attach dates to the announcement.

DescriptionDear WAC Members and Instructors,

I am excited to announce that there is an upcoming Wilderness First Responder (WFR) class to be held at our own Guye Cabin. This class is the standard medical training for the outdoor industry as well as extremely valuable to all climbers and outdoor recreationalists. The class will be March 22-24 and March 30-31 2013.

There will be 5 spots reserved for WAC members through Feb. 1, after which all 18 spots will be open to the public. This class is a different format than many WFR classes in that it is over two weekends (one three day) rather than over ten straight days. This is possible because students are required to cover much of the material beforehand through a DVD, class books, and a pretest. This is a rare and fantastic chance for you to take a valuable WFR class without taking almost two weeks off work!

This particular class info:
This class is especially exciting for WAC members because the Board of Directors has approved funding to subsidize member tuition, up to $200 off full tuition, partly through the Lee F. Adams WAC Grant Program. To be eligible for this scholarship funding, members must apply to the board through the Grant application stating how they will use this training to benefit the club. Please wait to sign up for the class until you have received a response wilh directions from the WFR Grant committee. Remember that you must show how this training will improve the club's classes (especially the WRFA class which is in need of an administrative lead) by your expected and continued participation.

I hope you consider this great opportunity to grow your wilderness medicine skills and knowledge!
