Wilderness First Aid Class A Wilderness and Remote First Aid Class is offered every fall at Guye Cabin. WRFA is a 16 hour first aid course for the wilderness traveler.

Usually the second weekend in November each year
American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid is designed for people whose jobs, volunteer activities or favorite activities take them to remote wilderness settings where Emergency Medical Services responders may be an hour or more away. The training complies with federal OSHA regulatory requirements for such certification. Major portions of the course are designed to be taught outdoors.

Registration opens in September of each year This course will held at Guye Cabin and begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning and continuing through Sunday evening approximately 5:00 PM. Be prepared for fall unpredictable weather, as a good portion of the class will be held outdoors, come rain, snow, or shine. You'll need to bring snacks and meals for the entire weekend, and coordinate feeding the instructors. Course Attendance Participation is required at all class sessions. The class involves hands-on, interactive learning. Wear casual clothes suitable for working on the ground and outdoors.
Arrangements cannot be made to make up class sessions. Please do not register for a class unless you can commit to attend all class sessions. Registration Registration is open now and closes when all spaces are allotted, or on October 10. The class will fill very quickly. Priority is given to those who commit to taking the Instructor Course.

Cancellation Policy In order to receive a refund for a WRFA Course, the cancellation must be made by the last day of registration. There are no refunds for no-shows or drop-outs. No partial refunds will be given. Eligibility You must be member of the Washington Alpine Club to take any WAC offered classes. To take advantage of all this great Club has to offer just Apply now... The WAC will also make spaces available to other Outdoor Clubs including our friends the Mountaineers, Boalps, and WSTC. Cost $130~ (includes 2 nights at Guye Cabin)

The Seattle Fire Department's Medic II Program provides free Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes to the general public. The program offers a three hour adult CPR class, a one-and-a-half hour refresher course and a four-hour infant/child CPR class, which also focuses on injury prevention and safety for children.
