WAC Full Moon Summer Party Aug 16!

 

A Snow Dinner in the summer! Come up and ride, hike, or climb. Stay overnight, or drop in for the day. We'll have a potluck lunch at 1 pm and and potluck dinner at 6 pm. Open House all day. Want to help?

 

Guye Cabin Work Parties - August 09!

 

We will have monthly Saturday work parties at the Cabin. There are several small inside projects and a lot of outside work to do. Chain saws needed. Lots of wood to split. This is the perfect chance to combine a day climbing, hiking or bike riding and enjoy Guye Cabin in the summer. Come for the day Sat or stay the entire weekend. Contact Mike Mahanay to rsvp or for more information.

 

The Last Polar Bear at the Burke Museum

 

On June 28, the Burke Museum opens The Last Polar Bear: Facing the Truth of a Warming World, a powerful photography exhibit documenting the polar bear in its disappearing artic habitat. See more than 40 heartwarming photographs by environmental photographer Steven Kazlowski, who spent nearly a decade in this remote and delicate region. The exhibit will also include Northwest filmmaker Arthur C. Smith, Ice Bears of the Beaufort, a short documentary that provides a portrait of polar bear behavior. The Last Polar Bear runs through Dec 31 , 2008. More info at:
